Who is Matthew Brown

Hi, and welcome to Matthew Brown Mentoring. I’ve built this website and business as my portal for giving you access to the decades of experience I’ve gained as an Analyst and Trader.
I’ve been in the industry since 1998 in roles such as; Funds Manager, Derivatives Advisor, Trader, Broker and Market Strategist. I’ve had the pleasure in providing advice, guidance and education to thousands of people from all walks of life.
Initially trained as a Technical Analyst, I developed my skills in chart reading through the late 1990’s on the Australian and New Zealand Stock Exchanges. Great lessons were learnt during the 2000 Tech Crash which, although having minimal impact on the ASX and NZSE, provided guidance for future market crashes such as Sept’11 and the Global Financial Crisis (or GFC). Over the years I have adopted broader Economic and Fundamental analysis into my decision making processes for, what I believe, is a well rounded approach to reading and strategising for portfolio management.
The progression into the US markets and into using Options as both a Risk management tool for portfolio management and as a leveraged trading instrument, occurred in the early 2000’s. Since then, I have maintained a focus on US stocks/options through the firms I have worked for and in my own personal investment approaches.
Having the right tools, the right strategy, and the experience to know how to implement and manage your money in the markets are all aspects that can be learnt by anyone. You also need to have a realistic expectation. Fortunes can be made from the markets, but ‘quick money’ is all too often given back (and then some) by those who don’t have the right mindset and strategy approach.
